Standards and accountability

Editorial & Corrections Policy

These standards govern Smart Richmond's civic data, election information and analysis.

Sourcing and labelling

Primary public records are preferred. Official facts, historical records, estimates, external market signals and Smart Richmond analysis are labelled separately. A model or online-attention signal is never described as a representative voter poll.

Election independence

Smart Richmond does not recommend or oppose candidates in its data monitor, accept paid candidate placement, or coordinate its factual coverage with a campaign. Candidate biographies supplied by candidates or election authorities are identified as such. Official election authorities remain the final source for ballot and voting instructions.

Corrections and updates

Material factual errors are corrected promptly after verification against a reliable source. Time-sensitive pages display or encode their latest review date, and candidate status remains provisional until the relevant deadline has passed. Corrections or supporting primary sources may be submitted through Email: billtusa427@gmail.com.

Use of AI

AI may help locate, organize, compare or explain source material. It does not replace source verification, invent missing data or make an official decision. Published claims remain the responsibility of Smart Richmond.

Privacy and conflicts

Personal data is not published merely because it is available. Relevant ownership, advertising or campaign relationships will be disclosed where they could affect a reader's assessment of the work. See the privacy notice.
