2022 mayoral vote: historical signals from broad polling-station groups

General Voting Day polls combined; excludes advance, mail, and mobile votes. Poll groups do not align with planning areas.

Method note: population data are from the 2021 Census; income data are for 2020; issue clusters are area-level assessments based on housing, transportation, land use, and civic facilities. Ethnicity and language are used only to understand access to public services, not as proxies for political preference. Richmond councillors are elected city-wide, not by ward.

Data sources and methods

  • Population, ethnicity, home-language, income, and housing data come from the City of Richmond's Planning Area Hot Facts, based on the 2021 Canadian Census.
  • Historical vote totals come from the City of Richmond's published 2022 poll-by-poll results; RC, RE, and RS are City poll-group codes.
  • Planning areas and voting divisions do not align, so this page does not publish misleading “planning-area vote shares” or treat demographic characteristics as political positions.
