The one published poll

Is there a real Richmond mayor poll for 2026?

Yes — one. Pallas Data published a Richmond, BC poll on July 15, 2026, fielded June 24–28, 2026. Two things about it matter more than the numbers: it was commissioned by the Conservative Electors Association, a participant in this election, and it ran before nominations closed on September 11, so it does not describe the final ballot.

CandidatePoll supportOffice on the final ballot
Kash Heed20%Mayor
Sheldon Starrett11.3%Councillor — not a mayoral candidate
Alexa Loo8.5%Mayor
Rob Howard5.9%Mayor
Mei Kang4.3%Mayor
Dickens Cheung1.6%Mayor
Undecided48.4%—

Three limits travel with that table. Almost half the sample was undecided (48.4%), a bigger share than any candidate’s and bigger than the gaps between them. The second-placed name is not running for mayor: Pallas polled Sheldon Starrett as a Conservative-endorsed mayoral candidate in June, but the City's final list has him as a council candidate for Advance Richmond. And two candidates on the final mayoral ballot were never polled — Dennet "The Cat Guy" Lee and Goldentiger King — because they had not filed yet.

What is the Richmond mayor polls page?

It's Smart Richmond's reader poll for the 2026 Richmond municipal election. Visitors choose a mayor option and up to eight city council candidates, then see live reader-poll results.

Is this an official Richmond election poll?

No. This is an informal, unscientific reader poll of Smart Richmond visitors. It is not conducted by the City of Richmond, does not use a scientific sample, and differs from Smart Richmond's separate data-sourced election monitor and candidate model.

How many times can I vote in this poll?

Please vote once. Browser and IP checks discourage repeat voting, but cannot verify a person's identity or guarantee one vote per person. Results are stored on the server so they stay consistent across visitors.

The City's final list has seven mayor candidates: Dickens Cheung, Kash Heed, Rob Howard, Mei Kang, Goldentiger King, Dennet "The Cat Guy" Lee and Alexa Loo.

How many city council candidates can I pick?

Up to eight, matching how the real Richmond ballot works: voters elect eight councillors at large from the full candidate list.

Can I see results from Richmond voters only?

Yes. Results can be filtered to "Richmond voters only" using approximate IP-based geolocation, alongside the all-voters total. This location detection is approximate, not verified identity, and is used only to label the two result sets — never to block a vote.
