Who is leading in Vancouver mayor polls for 2026?

Two polls have been published since nominations closed on September 11. The most recent, larger and more current one has Pete Fry (Green) leading; an earlier one from late July had Ken Sim (ABC) leading. The shift lines up with two candidates withdrawing and endorsing Fry.

Figures are among 336 decided voters (of 607 surveyed), after respondents who had backed the two candidates who later withdrew — COPE's Stephanie Allen and OneCity's William Azaroff — were reassigned to their stated second choice, following those candidates' endorsements of Fry on September 2 and 8. Over the field period itself, Fry's support rose from 38% to 59% and Sim's fell from 33% to 24%, though the post-September-8 subsample (119 interviews) carries a wider margin of error than the full figures above. Muhammad Ahmad, Amauri Caliman and Scott Gilbert — also on the final ballot — were not named as leading contenders and are not broken out separately in the release.

Method, as published: online survey of 607 Vancouver adults, fielded August 31–September 11, 2026, weighted to Vancouver's gender, age and regional composition, effective sample 509, margin of error ±4.35 percentage points at 95% confidence for the full sample (wider for the decided-voter subsample). Frequently asked questions

What is the Vancouver mayor polls page?

It's Smart Richmond's reader poll for the 2026 Vancouver municipal election. Visitors pick one mayor candidate and up to ten city council candidates, then see live poll results.

Is this an official Vancouver election poll?

No. This is an informal, unscientific reader poll of Smart Richmond visitors. It is not conducted by the City of Vancouver, does not use a scientific sample, and differs from Smart Richmond's separate data-sourced Vancouver election model.

Who is leading in Vancouver mayor polls?

In the most recent published poll, from Justason Market Intelligence (fielded August 31 to September 11, 2026), Green candidate Pete Fry led with 45% support among decided voters, followed by incumbent Ken Sim at 30%, Colleen Hardwick at 11%, Kareem Allam at 10% and Rebecca Bligh at 5%. An earlier Research Co. poll in late July and early August 2026 had Sim leading. See the full breakdown above.

How many times can I vote in this poll?

Please vote once. Browser and IP checks discourage repeat voting, but cannot verify a person's identity or guarantee one vote per person. Results are stored on the server so they stay consistent across visitors.

Who is running for Vancouver mayor in 2026?

The City of Vancouver's final list names eight mayor candidates: Muhammad Ahmad, Kareem Allam, Rebecca Bligh, Amauri Caliman, Pete Fry, Scott Gilbert, Colleen Hardwick and Ken Sim. Their ballot numbers were set by random draw on September 18.

How many city council candidates can I pick?

Up to ten, matching how the real Vancouver ballot works: voters elect ten councillors at large from the full candidate list.

Can I see results from Vancouver voters only?

Yes. Results can be filtered to "Vancouver voters only" using approximate IP-based geolocation, alongside the all-voters total. This location detection is approximate, not verified identity, and is used only to label the two result sets — never to block a vote.
